<sub>So there has seemed to be a bit of confusion on the difference between the two 'categories'. Here's to explain a little, so that little unclear-cloud can fade a bit :3

The Legacies.

So, as you might have noticed, in the replying post for characters, the Dean and company seem to favor those who are 'Legacies', accepting them without hesitation, acting warmer to them. This is no coincidence.

For however amount of years Spence Academy had been open, only what we call 'Legacies' were permitted. People with extraordinary grades, prestigious families, and loads of cash were allowed in. The kind of people you might expect to find the cure for cancer. They also come from a family where either one or both of their parents went to Spence in the past. Their parents are usually well known in society and CEO's or brain surgeons ect. Generally amazing people - the kinds you read about in books. They've got the looks, the brains, and the cash.

No one left Spence Academy with average grades.

Enter: Nouveaus.

The Nouveaus.

The name "Nouveaus" was slapped onto these people as a 'label'. Almost like how people get labeled 'Slut' or 'Emo', etc. The Legacies created this. Here's why.

Unlike the Legacies, the Nouveaus are average. They'd be the people you see in your everyday Public High School. They are the underdogs in Spence Academy. They are not high, mighty and prestigious like the Legacies. Nouveaus usually come from normal families who live normal lives but they to are top of their class and are brilliant because thats all that Spence accepts. Of course Nouveaus can come from rich families as well, their parents just wouldn't have gone to Spence.

These are the Standings.

The School Staff take a natural liking to the Legacies, favoring them, regardless they said in the beginning of the year they wouldn't take sides. The Legacies have put aside their differences and seemed to naturally bond with another, now in some pact to try and get rid of the Nouveaus. The name "Nouveau" was originally supposed to be an insult, however, after everybody [including the Staff] began to use the terms, their rudeness faded a bit. The Legacies will still refer to the other group as "Nouveaus" insultingly, but the Nouveaus won't call them self that. If you do, chances are, you'd get laughed at. God knows why.

Even though everyone will probably want to be a Legacy, there will probably be more Nouveaus since not everyone can come from a family the Legacies are expected to come from.
