I Don't Want You Anymore [p] « Thread Started on Dec 1, 2008, 4:58pm »
((Okay this is for Desmond and Deo!))
Her heels clacked rhythmically on the pavement as she walked, one hand gripping her umbrella still, not offering to let the already soaking boy beside her share in the rather large shelter. Anyone who knew her well knew she didn't share well, especially with wet people. She didn't walk to him really, preoccupied with her Prada phone, typing on it feverishly to her brother, trying to convince him to drag his ass out of bed and come join them. Okay so he was probably already out of bed and sitting around but with him you never knew, he could be still in be in bed and acting lazy. Usually he'd be up and tormenting Jacob at this time but since their little falling out he'd been walking the dogs or lazing about in his room. After about 5 text messages of him saying no she finally dialed his number. The first time he simply let it ring and go to voice mail so she left a rather pissed off message then hit redial. He picked up this time, using a rather tired and short tempered tone he rarely used. It didn't take her long to convince him and soon he agreed to come and give Desmond a tour, claiming he didn't feel well and had already called in sick for school.
She hit end after that short conversation and smiled at Desmond. "Okay, Deo's in." she said, now paying more attention to him as she cut across the grounds, humming a strange tune as she half skipped up the front stairs and under the overhang. She slid her phone into a hidden pocket in her purse then lowered her umbrella and spun it to rid it of water then pulled it closed and slung it over her forearm, doing all this with ease as if she went home and practiced these movements in the mirror.
"Come on, we can go wait in the cafeteria for Deo, he wasn't even out of bed" she said with a small laugh as if that was the most outrageous idea ever. Well it actually was, Deo was an early riser, never slept later then 5 or 6 no matter how late he stayed up. Well when you had dogs that you had to walk for an hour every morning then you had to make yourself look at least presentable (which in Legacy terms was near perfect) you had to get up early. Then you also had to have a certain amount of sleep so you didn't have ugly black bags under your eyes every morning.
There were more then a few people who looked at them as they headed towards the cafeteria. Kelly gave her a questioning look as they passed but Vivian just lifted her shoulders in an easy shrug and Kelly returned it then went back to her conversation with a few people. After that a lot of people didn't bother with them after that. She lead the way into the cafeteria which wasn't very full anymore, the breakfast rush almost over. She motioned that she'd be back in a second and went to get a croissant, ignoring a girl she hung out with but didn't know well when she asked why she was with Desmond. Wait she was the one who had commented how hot Desmond was. What was her name again? Vivian didn't know and honestly she really didn't care. She beckoned for Desmond to follow and headed over to the corner of the cafeteria designated as the lounge for the legacies. There was only one other person there, a nouveau and she was out of there as soon as a muscle in Vivian's arm twitched. There was only that brief moment of rage then she was smiling again as she sat down in an over stuffed chair, letting him choose where he sat while she picked apart her french pastry. "Crap, class starts in a half an hour" she said, wrinkling her nose in disgust. She didn't really want to go but unlike her brother she hated missing classes, especially the ones she enjoyed.

As he followed Vivian obediently and the rain began to show the first signs of lightening, Desmond stretched his long arms behind him. He paid no mind to the texting and livid message Vivian had handed to her brother when he ignored her, mentally hoping he wouldn't be too much of a burden. He wanted to tell her that if her twin didn't want to, he didn't have to give him a tour, but a feeling in his stomach stopped him. He knew it as security, the kind of security you felt when around other people, and realised now that he had sorely missed it. He sighed, Vivian's smile breaking his current skipping mind, his oak eyes shimmering and hopeful as she finally told him that her brother was coming.
He barely wasted any time before his eyes followed her graceful form, a tune coming from her. She was a lively young woman, and his spirit tugged within him, yearning for her friendship, his social instincts backing it. Turning his head once more to stop his short stares, he fixed the cellphone in his sights until she had tucked it away, and a smile rose on his mouth. "Good, then I can grab something to eat real quick. I skipped breakfast this morning."
However, his lax attitude didn't simply brush off the few stares he felt burning through them as they walked. Desmond smiled nervously to a few, wondering what had been so interesting to stop and look at them. The food in the cafeteria made his stomach growl, hating him for skipping breakfast earlier that morning. And normally Desmond wasn't one to skip any sort of meals. The only thing he allowed himself to grab was a red apple from the group that had dwindled to near nothing,. After all, the breakfast rush had just ended, and he felt himself lucky to even have one. He took a decent sized bite out of it, looking up for when Vivian motioned for him to follow.
"Mn..!" Was the sound he made to let her know he was following, swallowing the piece he had bitten off. His brows furrowed, confusement written on his features when the other girl in the area Vivian took him scampered off in such a hurry. "She coulda' stayed..." the brunette stated lowly, unaware that Vivian was the real reason she had left. Shrugging that off, he sat down, making himself comfortable across from her, catching her statement about her classes. Raising both brows, he grinned, waving a hand. "You don't have to wait for your brother to come, if you can't. I don't want to be the reason you're late."

ooc// sorry this is taking so long! there, done, you can have a cranky Deo love him!
God… When you have a migraine the last thing you want to hear is a really loud ringing. The light from his iPhone flicked on, flashing Vivian’s picture and Darrea winced, burying his face into his pillow and curling the edges up around his ears, no use, it kept ringing. His hand stretched out, patting along his night side table until his hand found the cold metal of his phone. He uncurled the pillow only to read that Vivian had someone she wanted him to meet. He immediately texted a firm N-O back to her then put the phone back, screen down. With that he rolled over and wrapped his arms around Splash’s neck, burring his face in the thick fur. The dog didn’t seem to mind, it was warmth. Tucker was splayed out at the end of the bed, completely oblivious to his owner’s pain.
Darrea had woken up that morning with a headache that felt like someone was driving an iron spike into his skull. Light and sounds hurt and it felt like he had been spun around twenty thousand times on a spinning chair. Even laying down and closing his eyes felt like he was on one of those rides in Disney Land that doesn’t go anywhere but tilts to pretend you are. Calling in sick had been painful, walking down the stairs to let the dogs out was excruciating and even when he had finally thought he could just rest the sun had risen and the light had seeped through his blinds. He had gotten up briefly to staple thick black blankets around the edge. Then he had lain back down only to hear the humming of his computer. He had gotten back up and unplugged all electronics and laid down in silence even though that was painful. Splash and Tucker had soon joined him and they had been content to sleep with him in silence even though Darrea hadn’t been able to sleep. Then… that damned phone…
It rang again and he flipped it over without looking at it, typing no again and clicking send. He knew it was Vivian because of the ring tone but he refused to open his eyes and look at the screen. He lost count of how many times she texted him but soon he picked up the screen and turned it down to the dimmest brightness and looked at her request. Yeah... no... He was about to turn his phone off when it started singing a different tune. He picked it up and instantly held it away from his ear as Vivian hissed some not so nice words into his ear. Keez Viv some hot shot Legacy there you're trying to impress?" he muttered but she simply told him to meet them at the cafeteria. He promptly turned off his phone and reached down to his night side table and picked up the small pill bottle there. He opened it and shook out 3 pills and dry swallowed them, hoping the Advil Liquid Gel Caps worked as well as the commercials said. He waited a good 5 minutes then unburied his face from his dogs neck and pulled his feet out from under the dead weight at the end of the bed.
The Advil helped a bit but it didn't make him want to throw open the curtains and bask in the sun like the commercials.. He walked to his dresser and changed into a black t-shirt with some band logo he couldn't see in the dark, some jeans and threw on his favorite get and black zip up hoodie. He didn't grab his bag but slid his phone into his pocket after turning it on. No make up, he let his hair in the messy fashion he had woken up in without looking in the mirror. He didn't look terrible, really even when he was dead sick for a week he was only knock down to average looks. Sometimes it was an advantage but then again, he was going o see Viv, he expected the oh so nice greeting of 'you look like shit D...' even though he really didn't care. He slid on his black Columbia flip flops and with a wave to his dogs he pulled up his hoodie, popped two more pills and departed. it was a good 5 minute walk full of agony to the school but luckily he found a girl heading there and latched onto her. She seemed quite fine to have him walk behind her, arms around her shoulders and head resting on the back of her neck. God he was hating his sister right then but she wouldn't have given up...
He left his escort at the front entrance as she headed off to chat with her friends, probably about him but he slunk towards the cafeteria, head low and eyes half closed as he tried not to throw up. The Advil was kicking in slowly but steadily lucky for him though sounds, sudden movements and bright lights still hurt. The cafeteria wasn't fun either, some girl tried to talk to him and he waved her off, walking towards Viv and some guy with his shoulders hunched and hands in his pockets. He grunted as he passed the two and instantly flopped down onto the couch beside his sister, face pressed into the pillow the block out the light, trying to make the world stop tipping under him.

When Desmond first heard the faint padding of muffled footsteps not too far off he didn't take any notice. He mustn't be distracted, else his head would begin to hurt again, and he'd need some time out to think and breathe, get his mind working well again. Had Desmond any mental illnesses, he would diagnose himself with ADD, alongside a few other oddities. As the time he sat there grew, his fidgetive nature would become more prominent and obvious.
Better not to think of getting up and walking away. Lord knows if Desmond would be able to keep himself amused as he waited, without a response from Vivian, until her brother came. And then it struck him that he was nineteen and shouldn't even consider getting up and walking away. His eyes rose to meet the young woman's face for a few moments until he realized he was once again staring. In that split moment of thought he felt a sudden heat flare across his face, and he wanted to shy away from Vivian.
He looked up at the disgruntled young man that grunted and shoved his face into a pillow. He didn't get to take a good enough glance to compare him to Viv, either. He still wanted to see how much of a spitting image they were of eachother. Silently, Desmond wondered what it would be like to have a sibling. Though, with the circumstances at home, he figured it was better off his was an only child. The young man, face hidden underneath the soft item, didn't seem too thrilled about being up and sitting there. But an introduction was in order, was it not? "You must be Vivian's brother. If you want to ever come out from under that pillow, I guess you should know my name's Desmond." The brunette chuckled, youthful eyes lighting up.

((sorry it took a while, exams are coming up...))
She wasn’t usually the chatty type unless around her other friends, she was rather out of it while she sat on the chair across from Desmond, neatly picking apart her food and nibbling and staring off into the distance. Now what was she here? She couldn’t tell, she was hanging out with a Nouveau in a Legacy area. When he said that the girl could have stayed she raised a perfectly plucked eyebrow and a small smile lit up her face in an almost dangerous way as if saying ‘no, she couldn’t have’ without words. There were rules here, unwritten ones that everyone else knew, hopefully Deo would teach him the rules before they next met or poor Desmond would learn it that hard way. She returned his grin with a smile of her own and shook her head, hair falling in front of her face as she leaned forward a bit, elbows resting on her knees as if trying to get closed to him. She almost told him that she couldn’t leave him here or else some other Legacy would come and make him leave one way or another. But instead she leaned back and continued picking apart her French pastry in silence, looking to the door now.
She felt someone watching her and she flicked her gaze to Desmond, meeting his eyes for only a moment before pink tinged his cheekbones. She smiled at this, not in that amused cruel way of hers but more kindly almost, if that was possible for her. It was then that a dark shape caught her attention. Smile slipped away and she snapped her gaze towards the form. Deo’s face was barely visible but she could tell her wasn’t feeling well. His hair wasn’t straightened, looked like he had just gotten out of bed and come here, no make up and some random clothes. Yet even though she wanted to scold him for being late and making her text him so many time a huge grin split across her face, both amused and happy.
But he just walked part them, grunted and shoved his face into a pillow. Oh wow, that was new, he didn’t even look at Desmond, there was something defiantly wrong with him today. She didn’t say something, just watched as her brother went completely limp and didn’t say a word. "You must be Vivian's brother. If you want to ever come out from under that pillow, I guess you should know my name's Desmond." Desomd said and Vivian chuckled lightly. ”Well Deo, glad to see your... alive… Desmond this is my twin Darrea, you can call him Deo, everyone does…” she said with a smile, much more chatty with her brother around. She paused and stood to walk over her brother, laying a hand on his back and bending down so her head was beside his. ”He’s a Nouveau, you should tell him a bit about the school…” she said in a voice that didn’t hint anything, Deo could take what he wanted from those words.
When she straightened she tossed the other half of her breakfast in the garbage and turned to face Desmond, bangles chiming slightly as she reached up to clasp her purse. ”I think he’ll survive… I better get to class before someone chews my head off, you two have fun and I’ll probably catch up with you later” she said with a smile and a wink. She looked back to Deo and frowned, balancing so she could kick him slightly, hopefully he’d be nice, she actually didn’t mind Desmond all that much. She shrugged and walked back to her seat, picking up her umbrella then with another wave to the two guys and a roll of her eyes to her brother she strode off, almost instantly Kelly was at her side and she was off to first period. Though… she couldn’t really remember what it was…

Oh god this was painful, his stomach was lurching and he felt nauseous, like he was constantly going to throw up. It reminded him of those strawberries at the carnivals, the ones you sit in and spin the disk in the middle? Yeah, he felt like he was sitting on one of those with something spinning it as fast as possible. If you could make them go up and down then you’d have what he was currently feeling like… Wait wasn’t there a ride like that? Teacups or something? Darrea couldn’t remember; he was just trying to not focus on the bright flashes of light behind his eyelids. The pain had dulled to a throb but it was still there, making him feel like his skull was expanding and contracting. He hadn’t noticed his sister’s pleasant smile or the fact the other guy was watching him. He had one leg tossed over the opposite arm of the couch, too tall to fit properly and the other hanging off the edge. His arms were curled around the pillow to push it firmly against his face. Any other day he would have wanted to know how sanitary their pillows were but right now he really didn’t care in the least. He heard the other guys greeting and usually he would have been all over him, his voice sounded cute so he must have had a cute face to go along with it but no, he simply grumbled something that sounded like a greeting but could very well have been him telling Desmond to shut the fuck up. Vivian did the introductions and when he heard his name he pulled a hand out from under the pillow, let it hang over the edge of the couch and lifted two fingers in greeting. Yeah, he was alive… He heard heels on the floor faintly and then there was a pressure on his back. He rolled his head slightly so he could hear her and her words made him jerk his head up in surprise. Oh shit, too fast!
He shuddered as a stronger wave of nausea rolled through him but he held what little food he had in his stomach down. His face was still concealed behind a wall of black hair but blue eyes were less tired as he watched his twin turn and address this Desmond guy in a polite manor. What the fuck was wrong with her? Yeah he got along with some Nouveaus but she was a bitch! She should be spitting in his face right now! What was her angle? Suddenly the nausea wasn’t as bad and he found himself extremely curious. What was so special about this guy? Vivian even threw in a flirty wink and Darrea stared at her with a shocked look. Vivian was off after that, Kelly slipping her arm through Vivian’s but sparing Darrea a cheerful smile and he lifted his hand in farewell to his friend and sister. So… now what to do with this guy? Well Darrea really didn’t want to get up, the nausea might come back to instead he rolled onto his side to face Desmond. ”So… You new to Spence? You transferring from another school or is this your first year in collage?” Darrea questioned easily. Well might as well try and be nice apparently there was something about him that Vivian liked…

A small grin appeared on the face of Desmond, somewhat relieved at the words of Vivian. So, he got a name. She left, and he watched her for a few moments until she had vanished from his sight. Soon, Darrea stirred and waved Vivian, as well as another cute girl(of course not as cute as Vivian, he thought) off.
Good, now that Deo wasn't awake, he wouldn't have to worry about losing his tour. He wouldn't have to search for a different person to give him his own tour later on. He felt himself straighten considerably, before he disguised his smile, exchanging it with no expression. He blinked for a second, running through his memory to remember what Vivian had said.
He processed it, remembering the things she had said earlier. Deo could hopefully fill him in on these 'Legacy' things. Just the small task of getting him to inform him on that and give him a tour, and then *poof*... he would know where everything is and all that he'd need to know about Spence. But right now, he'd have to answer his inquiry. "Yeah, I'm new. It's my first year." The brunette answered, studying Deo as he laid on his side. Now he could pick out the differences and similarities between him and Vivian. Despite the fact he was a guy, and she was a girl, they looked strikingly similar.
Then it was good they were opposite genders. Otherwise, Desmond was sure he wouldn't be able to tell them apart, had they both been girls or both been boys. But he was beginning to feel a bit guilty. Deo didn't look like he was feeling to well. "Yanno, if you aren't feeling well, you can go back to your dorm and get back to bed. I don't want you to feel obligated to be stuck giving me a tour if you aren't feeling well."

So he was new, and he was a Nouveau, huh, then why was Vivian so interested in him? She'd usually just snarl at him, tell him he was the scum of the earth and that he should go crawl back in the hole he'd come from. But she was hooking him up with Deo, making him give the kid a tour. Darrea regarded Desmond calmly as he finished his comment, nodding his head slowly then noticing that Desomd was eying him up, he raised an eyebrow and smiled thinly. Normally he would have commented and warned Desmond that he was bisexual and that he shouldn't be eying Deo up like that or he might give the wrong impression. But really his head hurt to much for that to really come to mind. So he let the other guy study him, probably comparing him to his sister, everyone did...
He tilted his head when Desomd offered to let him go back to his dorm, well it wasn't really up to him to let Deo go now was it? Vivian was the one who had chewed his head off to get here so he wasn't going to leave until she let him. So he shrugged adn flashed a weak smile. He'd have to meet Desmond tomorrow or something, when he was in better shape... "Naw, this should be interesting..." he said with a light chuckle as if there was some hidden intent behind that. "I'd invite you back to my place so you could sit and I could curl up in bed but really is someone saw you coming back to my place you might get a bad wrap..." he said with a light chuckle then shifted so he was sitting up, one arm draped over the arm rest, feet curled beside him. "So Vivian tells me you don't know much about Spence, anything specific you want to hear about?" Deo asked, wondering how much Vivian had told him.
Legacy - Wealthy, stunning, comes from well known families and have parents who attended Spence for all four years of their collage year and moved on to do great things. They have ruled the school forever and are definably not thrilled about 'Nouveaus' taking over their school. They are the ones who started the term Nouveau and use it as an insult to the new students. These students are usually the ones who don't have to work hard for their grades and are naturally smart. They are the ones you'll see curing cancer or finding a solution to world hunger. They look down at the Nouveaus and usually just ignore them and hope they go away or openly mock and despise them.
Nouveau - Comes from any class really, these are the students who's parents didn't go to Spence and aren't basically bred to be amazing. They can come from the same world as the Legacies, be just as rich but still the Legacies will forever look down on them. These students are still smart because only the truly amazing students get into Spence. The term Nouveau is not one these students would use because it is what the Legacies labeled them as and it's used as an insult. As much as they seem to hate the Legacies in return they just want to be accepted. Even though are larger in numbers they had absolutely no standing in the school.
11•16•2008 Okay so other then having a new character and member of the moment there isn't much to report. Viv and I have been brainstorming some contests to come like fan fiction contests or maybe art, who knows. We'll get around to those but until then keep up the good work guys, please advertise and keep inviting new members to join us!
her bio thread of interest Vivian never ceases to amaze me, she's one of the best examples of a legacy and I always enjoy reading her threads.
his bio thread of interest Desmond has been here almost every day since joining Spence. She is a pleasure to be around and seemed to have made friends with everyone. So she can have the spotlight on her for a bit, plus you should check out her thread with Vivian, it's rather amusing XD.
